New Delhi-2011—Attitudes

New Delhi-2011—Attitudes

If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.

This is best quote NEW DELHI has to offer all it is citizens.

New Delhi is a city where----------------------

"A friend in power is a friend lost"

Anybody can sympathize with the sufferings of a friend in this city, but it requires a very fine nature to sympathize with a friend's and city’s success."

Influenced and snobby attitude is common here in the city. People react with neighbors achievements. By and large in positive sense or to get negative it is part of human nature to get jealous with others success. But all rich and poor travel in same metro train and eats beard of same wheat flour all over the city. It only the location and size of house or hotel makes difference among people. This city gives same bread for 10 INR on the street and 150 INR in the five start hotel and everyone knows that so they feel happy and equally at same time.
Delhi has population of 1.67 Crore, an increase from figure of 1.39 Crore in 2001 census. Total population of Delhi as per 2011 census is 16,753,235.

Large population and big traffic makes city bit tired but city has round geographical location so it gets expanded with inflow of people. City which has the major foreign delegates and major business houses makes attitude cosmopolitan. We have the best shopping malls and four seasons which makes fashion and clothing settlement also vivid, which makes city very trendy in attitude.

Beside that New Delhi had the best schooling and collage education institutes so major young population lives here in hostels, paying guest accommodation and guest houses. This young population makes city so much in positive, ambitious and experimental in attitudes. Young people make city look vibrant also. By and large this city is cool and tolerant in attitude.

New Delhi have one more thing which other cities doesn’t have, that is its monuments and walled city, which dates back from 2500BC.So some attitudes also gets reflected here, in food, fashion and films are made on these monuments. Besides that major art and culture events happens in daily basis, so major artists and traditional craftsmen, folk dances events gets happening every day.

Majorly Indian community lives in joint family, but in New Delhi is so liberal in nature that we have nuclear family, single parents and joint families community in every religion and they live happily. We have villages in between the city itself, so you find cow dung and big joint family houses beside the shopping mall, so here life style attitude is larger than life. Higher bureaucracy and politics works from the capital called New Delhi, so inspirational politician also gets home in aristocratic attitude in the city. Multi talent and multi cultural attitudes are happening around the city.

In 21st years, we have one more community I would like to call them as they are the pushers of middle class income and major spenders in the city food, fashion and homes, which made city bit expensive; they are the computer related industry professionals. Either a call center, software ,supply chain or logistics management professional, they get good salary so they spend on high end cloths enjoys weekends on shopping malls. They have increased traffic in the city as they travel by car alone. So on one had it is good for city’s GDP.
They are the real backbone of the city these days, because they are young, educated, eats high end pizza, wears branded clothes and live in apartments with swimming pool they made city expensive on one hand.
They have very liberal attitude and friendly in positive sense. They made city cosmopolitan and attractive.

Where as we have unorganized housing locations in the also, they are poor or poor middle class community, but they also live in manners and activates. We can find it lain food and pizza eating people in these areas also. So they also have positive attitude which makes city rich in culture.

2011…Modern New Delhi, mostly migrated population influences an attitude of New Delhi. Otherwise New Delhi had been mostly populated by 300 villages and old Delhi residents those live from centuries here. But today we have almost every religion, community and race from all over the world.
We had influences of British people; immigrants from Lahore, Punjab present day Pakistan in mid 19th century. We have great business minded community from Western part of Uttar Pradesh, these still rule the trading and industrial community of the city. Rajasthan and Gujarat people also hold good position in Business community.

It is one of the fastest growing cities in the world and has a total population of nearing three hundred thousand residents. New Delhi is one of the world’s top global cities.
The climate of New Delhi is a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate with high variation between summer and winter, in terms of both temperatures and rainfall.
Owing to the migration of people from across the country (mostly from the Northern and Eastern states of India), Delhi has grown to be a multicultural, cosmopolitan metropolis.
Delhi is an expansive area, in its extremity it spans from Narela in the north to Ghitorni in the south. Najafgarh is the furthest point west, and Seemapuri is its eastern extremity. The NCR encompasses towns south and east of the said border, namely Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad and Gurgaon.

To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right.
- Confucius

All major Indian influences of Hinduism and the tradition of the caste system created a culture of its own kind may be we call hierarchical relationships.
.New Delhi Indians are very conscious of social order. All  status from person to person blood relative to other people, be they family, friends, or strangers matters a lot to person who has been to city for 30-40 years. Although young generation those born and brought up 20-25 years back are very much localized in the big city. All four directions have different mind set and attitude.

The locality posh or down trended counted a lot. But you know this city is unique we need everyone from Gardner to waiter and vegetable seller, so we need to respect all.

Attitude changes in ego or negative sense from the up bringing. Normally rich middle class and middle class people have major population in the city and they are cool minded cosmopolitan people. As Delhi is changing fast we have almost every fashion brand and food available from all over world so it is people either original or migrated settles all in.

Every one is in here in all type of work business, or job. This city welcomes all and it is its positive attitude that made so many people rich, famous, intelligent from nowhere or very upbeat town of the country.

By and large have positive mindset people, here in New Delhi, BUT SOME IMMIGRANTS FEEL OFFENDED AND GETS NEGATIVE.

Religion, education and social class all influence greetings in India.
It is systematic hierarchical culture, so greet the eldest or most senior person first.
When leaving a group, each person must be bid farewell individually.

Eating habits vary from community to community and are easily found in the city. In India, these may affect the foods that are served:
. Hindus do not eat beef and many are vegetarians.
. Muslims do not eat pork or drink alcohol.
. Sikhs do not eat beef.
. Lamb, chicken, and fish are the most commonly served main courses for non-vegetarian meals as they avoid the meat restrictions of the religious groups.

New Delhi Street Momos---Chinese/Nepalese/Japanese food In New Delhi……

New Delhi Street Momos---Chinese/Nepalese/Japanese food In New Delhi……

Here in New Delhi, people find it china’s snack, where as I find completely Tibetan and Nepalese snack served in Nepal, Hong Kong and streets of china.
Served hot on paper plates from the small stove pantry having small water steamer. You can find them in every corner of the street. So popular with kids and young crowd that they can eat instead of full meal in the evening.
Momos and dumpling have basically similar way of steam cooked fast food from Far East. But in India, especially in New Delhi, it is like second best selling snack on the streets.

We have thousands of small vendors on the streets of New Delhi .It is very reasonably priced, as only INR 4 FOR ONE PIECES, MEANS ONE CENT ONLY. On other hand in medium sized fine dine restaurants you can pay half a dolor for one pieces and in fine dine you can pay one dollar or INR 50 for one pieces.

But most strange part of this dish is it is selling like hot cake, because of fewer prices, different taste, easily available.

I DONOT KNOW? But what I know that I have seen small food production houses, in west Delhi making thousands of vegetable momos every day for small street vendors those buy in bulk and cost on INR one. It is very strange think I have never seen like this before in Indian food industry. Momos has become a small scale industry in New Delhi, here with few hundred INR one can start a business and can make living of their family easily.

Untrained cooks, UN professional entrepreneurs and unemployed youth can make 20-50 USD or 500 to 2000 INR in a day or you can say only in 5-6 hours evening time sales.

SERVING TIME IN INDIA—EVENING 5 TO 11 PM

SERVED ---- STEAMED AND FRIED WITH SOUP OR THICK SAUCE OF GARLIC AND CHILLY.

SERVED---- 4 TO 8 PIECES PER ENTREE PLATE

PLACES TO EAT-----

TIBETAN MARKET, CHANAKYA PALCE, EVERY STREET IN SHOPPING AREA, FINE FINE DINE CHINESE RESTAURANTS…In counting thousands of street vendors.

Normally in Nepal, China and Japan this snack is served in morning, as breakfast, but in New Delhi, we have very less breakfast eat outs, so it is available in the evening only, and most popular eat out in New Delhi is Tibetan refuge settlement on the bank of river Yamuna, near Kasmiri Gate Metro Station. Second best place in Delhi is Chanakaya  Puri shopping complex, here we have 12-15 shops those are the earliest momos eat out restaurants, it is South of Delhi and ideally located in the diplomatic area of the nation.

Otherwise, you can find at least 10-12 street vendors in every shopping area of the city doing brisk sales, in the evening time. Also find street vendors in front of any college or University in the city doing good sales of steamed vegetable and chicken momos.

BEST FINE DINE CHINESH AND JAPANESE RESTRURANTS IN NEW DELHI—almost every five start hotel serves momos and dumpling,.

As dumplings are basically made out of raw fish as filling and outer overlapping with steamed rice. Momos have steamed chopped vegetable or meat as filling and outer layer made out of flour. Both dishes are best served after steamer of water. Normally served with soup and sauce made out of garlic red chilly and china’s spices.

Momos are also called Tibetan dumplings. (The word "momos" is pronounced with the same "o" sound as in "so-so.")

Momo (Nepali: ::Tibetan: མོག་མོག་Wylie: mog mog; ) is a type of pastry native to Nepal as well as among the Tibetans. It is similar to the Mongolian buuz or the Chinese jiaozi.
The Tibetan word momo is a loanword from the Chinese mómo (馍馍)

MOMOS Recipe

Dough
In a bowl combines flour, oil, salt and water. Mix well; knead until tight in texture, about 8-10 min.

Filling for Veg
Cabbage is used a lot in New Delhi; just chop it in small size season with salt green chili and black paper.

Filling for non veg
Take chopped and steamed pieces of fish or chicken or lamb or pork, season it well as per your Chili

Preparations

It is tricky part you need skilled hand to make 4-5 inch ball shape with rolled dough. Than fill you’re filling close the ball shape dish. Steam for 10-12 minutes serves with chilly sauce or soup.

You can also fry them; no deep fry just swallow fry

In china they make filling out of stocked fish mixed with chicken egg both yellow and white.
In Japan, they use rice as outer wrap and raw fish as filling server with sauce made of vinegar and garlic etc.

Day is bright—Poetry on the city named New Delhi

Day is bright—Poetry on the city named New Delhi

Written By Shailesh Sharma Pokhriyal,
18th Novemeber, 11.PM .Dawrka, New Delhi trying to be positive on the city which takes more than you give……

City of heart, hope and food for all, all are near but looks far……
News are made, minster created, building erected; here emotion like dart
Remembering old friend of good times haunts dream like tar
City takes you to medieval times and throws back on broken petrol car.

I think I live very near… New Delhi—city that looks too far

Oil lamp was burning whole night; someone said it was raining whole night
Those missed might be intoxicated in dark side of city’s life
Day is crimson and bright, sparrow mingling with crow up in the sky
Cemented tower window pans out faces of delight and shy

Children, cars, cafe and career moves out in the street
Beggars, endlessness, old age and crime on the road of discreet.

Food and fashion moves together from street to ramp
Why we lost hope and honesty on the city map.

Monuments gets repainted, stadium gets raised
Still hospitals have long ray of hope and rushed

Gardens get locked with young lovers; behold some one find peacock on the street turn
Late night fog disrupts the movement of city; hey festival of light still gets burn

Aspiration of money and power runs on library and café,
City has round table politics and disco on the same way

Dancers from Egypt and guitar player from France play the same tune
Wine, pizza, noodles are coming out from the kitchen with same name…

Moonlight on my window, tree is hiding a whore
Drunken men shouting on Dry River shore
Executive driving fast car calling traffic like war
Food tables booked, street bar-be-que looks soar
City of heart, hope and food for all, all are near but looks far……

I think I live very near… New Delhi—city that looks too far
