NEW DELHI
AND FOOD EATING HABITS IN 21 ST CENTURY ESPECIALLY IN THE RISE OF MIDDLE CLASS
INCOME………………………………………….
Attitude and
influences given by Mother Nature always matter a most in food eating and
culinary work. New Delhi, had very fertile land from the began of city’s
development around river called Yamuna, which flows down from the Great Himalayas.
Also far from river we had sweet water ponds where personal and moguls’ emperors
made city. We have monuments and ruins in southern part of city called Lodi
tomb and Qutab minar, where we can still found some the best garden because of
fertile land.
Fertile land
makes city’s eating habits good, primarily we get wheat and fresh vegetables
very easily still these days. So, New Delhi in particular has good setting for cereals,
wheat, vegetables and milk products.
With influence
of Persian and moguls in early 10th century New Delhi has seen and
accepted the moguls’ non vegetarian food easily. We have till date best goat
meat and chicken available from local street shop to frozen shopping mall.
So we have
very good mix of vegetarian and non vegetarians food eating and making habits.
But today in
the out burst of middle class in some and influences of travel by young people
around the world, you can find some of the best continental, Chinese and Italian
cuisines fine dine and street food.
From pizza
to dim sums, New Delhi have everything in budget of every one from 20 cents to
20 US dollar amount you can get same thing in the city, where no one can sleep empty
stomach.
You know in
places worships in New Delhi serve free vegetarian food made with the best ingredients
available for whole day. So there is so much to tell and write about this city’s
food and eat outs.
I love to
eat and cook for this city and every visitor, last week some new friends eat at
my place pasta and Chinese noodles, the find it interesting that city has some
many variety and people have some taste at in their mouth. You know in my weekly
home dinner menu we have 2 days for home cooked Chinese vegetarian rice and noodles,
apart from home baked pizza…
New Delhi, capital of the great
nation India. I love to be Indian first than to be born and brought up in Delhi. I have been witnessing in to the city’s growth from 1970’s to 2000,at this time
city has seen everything from metro train to high class International airports
and grown up downtown towns we call them national capital regions.
With growth
of city’s boundaries, city which has seen rulers from almost every part of
historic earth like Persia, England and the mighty golden period of Moguls lastly
in 14th and 18th century before Britain or English people
took over. Before that city had been consolidated in BC era by Hindu kings and
had some influence of Buddha also.
As per
historical data this city has history dating back 3000 years and has been built
and ruined 7 times adjoining the great river Yamuna.
So it is uphill task for me to write about influences and habits of New Delhi, because it is so much to write and i like to share with you even if you have an idea of sharing on this topic please make comments on it.
